The Elecraft KX3 is a QRP (up to 10-12W with internal batteries, more with external supply) all-band, all-mode portable HF/6m transceiver introduced in 2012. It popularized the idea of a genuinely field-capable radio with a real general-coverage receiver, built-in antenna tuner option, and a modular design that let owners add a 2m module or higher-power amplifier later. It became a favorite among SOTA and POTA activators for its balance of performance and portability, and used examples remain in steady demand years after Elecraft moved on to the smaller KX2 and the K4 flagship.
