Released in 2004, the IC-703 is a QRP-focused HF+6m transceiver with a built-in automatic antenna tuner and up to 10W output, aimed at portable and low-power operating rather than base-station use. Its combination of built-in tuner, small size and general coverage receive made it a popular budget entry point into QRP operating well before today's SDR portables like the IC-705 existed.
