Released in 2016, the IC-7300 was Icom's first HF/6m rig to bring direct-sampling SDR and a color touchscreen with a real-time spectrum scope down to an affordable price point. Running 100W, it dispensed with a traditional IF/roofing-filter chain in favor of an FPGA-based receiver, a genuine departure for the industry at the time. Its combination of performance and price made it one of the best-selling HF rigs of its generation, and it remains one of the most common transceivers on the used market today.
