Released in 2004, the IC-756 Pro III is the final and most refined version of Icom's 756 Pro line, adding dual watch, a higher-resolution real-time spectrum scope and improved 32-bit floating-point DSP filtering over its predecessors. It represents the peak of Icom's conventional-superheterodyne HF flagship design before the shift to direct-sampling SDR rigs like the IC-7610. Its receiver performance is still well regarded, and clean examples remain desirable among contesters and DXers.
