Released in 1993, the IC-775DSP was Icom's high-end HF flagship of the early 1990s, one of the first amateur transceivers to add DSP-based IF filtering on top of a conventional superheterodyne design. Large, heavy and receiver-focused, it built a strong reputation among serious DXers and contesters for its front-end performance, and well-maintained examples are still actively sought decades later specifically for that receiver reputation.
