Introduced in the early 1980s, the TS-930S is an all solid-state HF transceiver that came during Kenwood's transition away from the tube-final S-line rigs toward the fully digital designs that followed. It offered a general-coverage receiver and sat in the lineup alongside the TS-940S as one of the company's higher-tier HF stations of the period. It's less common on the used market than some siblings, which keeps it of particular interest to vintage Kenwood collectors.
