Announced in 2022 as the 'AESS' (Acoustic Enhanced Signal Sense) transceiver, the FT-710 is a compact HF/6m-only SDR base rig aimed at operators who don't need the FT-991A's VHF/UHF coverage. It uses the same high-performance ADC/DSP receiver architecture pioneered in the FTDX10, paired with a built-in speaker system tuned for natural audio, a touchscreen display, and 100W output. It sits as Yaesu's most affordable entry point into direct-sampling SDR receive performance in the current lineup, below the FTDX10 and FTdx101 series.
