Introduced in 1983, the FT-757GX is a compact, fully solid-state HF transceiver covering 160–10m with a general-coverage receiver (500 kHz–30 MHz), 100W output on CW/SSB/FM and 25W on AM, and ten memory channels. Small and light for its era compared to earlier hybrid tube rigs like the FT-101/FT-901 lines, it became a popular choice for operators wanting a genuinely portable-sized 100W HF base/mobile radio, and its compact footprint made it a favorite for DXpeditions and field operation in the 1980s.
