Released in 2013, the FTdx3000 is a mid-to-upper-tier HF/6m base transceiver with 100W output that brought roofing-filter receiver architecture and a color spectrum scope display down from Yaesu's flagship FTdx5000 into a more affordable single-receiver design. It effectively replaced the FT-950 in Yaesu's lineup as the step below flagship, and its combination of strong receiver performance and integrated antenna tuner made it a popular choice for serious DXers and contesters who didn't need — or couldn't justify the cost of — the full FTdx5000.
