Heathkit SB-101

About this radio

Part of Heathkit's respected SB-Line, the SB-101 arrived in 1967 as the successor to the SB-100 — a build-it-yourself tube kit covering 80-10m SSB/CW. It paired naturally with companion SB-Line gear like the SB-200 amplifier, and used a factory-built local oscillator module for better frequency stability than a fully home-built design of the time. It sits at the mid-point of the SB-100/101/102 evolution: more refined than the original SB-100, but without the solid-state oscillator and sensitivity gains of the later SB-102. Kit-radio collectors value it for build quality and classic Heathkit styling.
