About this radio
Introduced in 2015, the FT-991A is Yaesu's compact all-mode, all-band base/mobile transceiver covering HF, 6m, 2m and 70cm in one box, with a color touch-capable display and built-in antenna tuner. It outputs 100W on HF/6m and 50W on VHF, dropping to around 20W on UHF. Its broad band coverage and small footprint made it a popular single-radio solution for operators who wanted HF plus local VHF/UHF FM and digital modes without running separate rigs, and it remains one of the most common all-rounders on the used market.
