Yaesu FTdx5000

About this radio

Released around 2011–2012, the FTdx5000 was Yaesu's flagship HF/6m base transceiver before the SDR-based FTdx101 series took over at the top of the lineup. Built around dual receivers, multiple switchable roofing filters, and an outboard down-converter accessory for exceptional close-in dynamic range, it earned a reputation as one of the best-performing superheterodyne/DSP-hybrid receivers Yaesu ever built. It was sold in higher- and lower-power factory variants, and remains highly regarded by serious contesters and DXers shopping the used flagship market.
