The Elecraft K4 is Elecraft's flagship base transceiver, introduced in 2021, moving the company from the K3 line's traditional superheterodyne-with-roofing-filters design to a hybrid architecture combining direct-sampling SDR receivers with a conventional front panel and knobs rather than a software-only interface. It runs 100W on HF/6m (with higher-power K4D/K4HD variants available) and adds a built-in panadapter display, dual receive, and Ethernet remote-control capability. As Elecraft's newest top-end radio it commands premium used prices and is aimed at contesters and DXers who want SDR-class performance without giving up physical controls.
