Introduced in 2020, the IC-705 is a portable SDR covering HF, 6m, 2m and 70cm in one handheld-sized unit, with D-STAR, GPS and a touchscreen spectrum scope built in. Output is 10W from an external 13.8V supply or around 5W from its optional internal battery pack. Its size, all-band coverage and digital voice support made it an immediate favorite for SOTA, POTA and other portable operating, and it remains one of the most sought-after QRP radios on the secondhand market.
