Released in 2003, the IC-746 PRO upgrades the original IC-746 with a 32-bit floating-point DSP and 24-bit A/D converter carried over from the IC-756 Pro II, while keeping the same HF+6m+2m coverage at up to 100W. It's the English/international-market version of a design also sold in Europe as the IC-7400, and its combination of DSP performance and tri-band coverage made it a strong all-rounder in its generation.
