Introduced in 1976, the FT-301 is the base analog-dial version of Yaesu's landmark FT-301 series — the company's first fully solid-state 100W HF transceiver, ending Yaesu's reliance on tube final amplifiers. It covers 160-10m with dual VFOs, semi break-in CW and a built-in noise blanker. Distinguished from the FT-301D by its analog frequency dial rather than digital readout, it represents a genuine turning point in amateur radio history and is collected today both for that significance and its solid mechanical construction.
